Gabe's first Christmas was spent at Grandma and Grandpa Roosmann's house and quite the event. As soon as Andy was off work Thursday afternoon, we headed to Lincoln; and just in time. It seemed like the moment we were in the house the blizzard moved in. The five of use were snowed in until Sunday afternoon, at which point I think my husband would have pushed the car all the way to Omaha if he had to. He assured my parents that it wasn't to get away from them but simply because he wanted to see his side of the family for the holidays as well as mine.
Gabe's favorite part of the holiday was having his daddy around from the moment he woke up to the moment he went to sleep. Though I didn't know it was possible, Gabe is an even sweeter little guy when he has both parents around.
Though the cars couldn't get around the neighborhood, I was determined to let Gabe experience the blizzard. So, we bundled him up, strapped on the Bjorn and headed out. As you can see the drifts at my parents house were up to my waist!
By the time we made it to Omaha Gabe had really mastered opening Christmas gifts. With his new hat (knitted with love from Grandma Holz) Gabe got to work.

This guy was really pooped by the time we got home. Somehow we managed to squeeze him into the back seat with all his Christmas booty.
What CUTE pictures! Gabe certainly had a memorable 1st Christmas. There will be tales to tell of the blizzard of '09.
