Christmas - Round One

Last week to celebrate Christmas Andy, Gabe and myself spent two gloriously lazy nights at the Holz Sr. residence. Thursday night we were able to exchange gifts and share a meal with the Higgins. Gabe loves feeling like one of the big boys running around with his cousins and staying up late.
Gabe still didn't really get the concept of gifts, and especially not Christmas, but at least he preferred gifts to boxes this year.
.
He received lots of his favorites, books!

One of Gabe's best buddies, Jazzie.

We divided Christmas into a 3 day gift opening event, Thursday night, Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. It helped ensure that Gabe didn't become overwhelmed and actually had time to interact with each toy or book before we threw another package in front of him. And yes, that means Gabe had enough presents to divide among 3 days!

At this point, the forerunner for best gift: vacuum!

Gabe has been helping me out around the house with some light cleaning, today he thought he'd throw on my shoes for good measure. If you're going to act like momma ya better dress like her as well huh?!

Long Time Coming

Yikes, it's a week until Christmas and I'm only now getting pictures from Thanksgiving posted.

Over the long weekend we enjoyed rest, shopping, good food and company in Osage Beach, Missouri. Andy, Gabe & I drove the 6+ hours with my parents and met Sarah, Drew and their two boys Levi and Cole at a lakeside cabin.

Sadly, I took relaxation a little to seriously and couldn't be bothered to take pictures. Here are 3 pictures I mustered the energy to capture.

Gabe enjoying the comfort of the back seat, an in car DVD system and a new hat!

Proud grandparents.
